Last week we shared an article on a hiring window presented by layoffs in several economic sectors. Economic news this week continues to focus on the potential banking crisis; consequently, reporting on the employment situation is not making the news.
This week we focus on keeping the employees you have.
One of the biggest challenges we all face is retaining new workers, mainly from generation Z. Fewer workers are available since this generation is much smaller than the Millennial generation. Many argue that this generation is fragile; we addressed that in a January article on our blog page.
Experience shows we have always struggled to bring new generations into our work cultures. Our Wiley research colleague, Mark Scullard, PhD, attributes this to the human condition of insecurity. You can read his insight here in a white paper titled “The Invisible Drain Your Company’s Culture.”
Insecurity is a severe distraction to becoming a member of a team. It impacts productivity, conflict, and retention as new workers try to find their way through the employment haze. Using the right assessment tool and teaching employees to recognize their strengths and address differences with others is an affordable way to improve culture. It reduces insecurity and enhances a sense of belonging. You don’t have a functioning culture without this first step.
Our assessments and surveys are world-class and statistically sound. Contact us, share your concerns, and see how we can help you. No charge, no obligation. |

Don't Let Remote Work Curb Sales Development |
|
|
During this time, one of the most critical questions any President or CEO must face is: “How can I build and maintain a productive sales program?” My friend and associate, Troy “The Sales Navigator” Harrison, offers an answer through his Smooth Sailing Coaching Programs. No professional athlete has ever achieved greatness without collaboration with an equally skilled and passionate coach. In the same way, for long-term sales force development success, coaching can be essential to achieving your goals. Troy can help you focus and direct your efforts, streamlining product knowledge, creating fruitful lead generation, and putting the right processes and people in place. Troy’s programs include individual, autonomous activities, like my Sales Force Audit, or my Salary Calculator, and their success is built on the group and one-on-one skills coaching. These programs have produced dramatic growth for companies all over the USA – and whether you are located in his hometown of Kansas City, or from coast to coast, he can help you.
