Slow Hiring is Key
Look past experience, focus on aptitude and character. |

|
Last week we shared an article on remote work and salary-sharing practices and noted that employment practices depend on the economic sector. You can read "Is It a Fad?" on our blog page.
This week, the Wall Street Journal displays the differences in economic sectors and opinions. The paper's Markets section highlights signs of a soft economic landing, arguing layoffs concentrate in Silicon Valley. The paper's Economic section reports February job postings dropped below 10 million for the first time in 21 months.
At JobMatch Assessment, we review the PXT Select™ burn rate to track hiring activity at our clients. It is an excellent indicator of economic activity since this assessment applies to all economic sectors. Hiring activity is down about 30% compared to last year, though it has been steady this year.
Our data, discussions with clients, and media coverage support the theory that companies are not laying off but are not expanding. The status quo rules the day. New projects are on hold due to fear of not having enough workers. Higher interest rates have also contributed to this trend, raising the cost of funding these projects.
Focusing on retention and hiring slowly is the best approach right now. Look for less experienced candidates with the right aptitude and good character. They will gain experience in time for the next upturn. Use the best tools to thrive. You can discover who has the aptitude and attitude for a specific job and maintain a strong culture by keeping everyone connected. We can help you develop the skills, leaders, and teams you need to succeed. Our assessments and surveys are world-class and statistically sound. Don't Let Remote Work Curb Sales Development |
|
|
During this time, one of the most critical questions any President or CEO must face is: “How can I build and maintain a productive sales program?” My friend and associate, Troy “The Sales Navigator” Harrison, offers an answer through his Smooth Sailing Coaching Programs. No professional athlete has ever achieved greatness without collaboration with an equally skilled and passionate coach. In the same way, for long-term sales force development success, coaching can be essential to achieving your goals. Troy can help you focus and direct your efforts, streamlining product knowledge, creating fruitful lead generation, and putting the right processes and people in place. Troy’s programs include individual, autonomous activities, like my Sales Force Audit, or my Salary Calculator, and their success is built on the group and one-on-one skills coaching. These programs have produced dramatic growth for companies all over the USA – and whether you are located in his hometown of Kansas City, or from coast to coast, he can help you.
